Modelling of the river Dunsop at Foot Holme

     The task was to estimate an extreme flood discharge and level
     for two villages near the Dunsop river(U.K) using modelling approaches,
     and to develop a plan for flood alleviation.

     This will be achieved with the use of a variety of hydrological
     methods for generating flood hydrographs and specialist river modelling
     software(Noah1-D) to estimate river levels associated with the 1% AEP
     (100 year) flood.

     Three methods were used to generate the flood hydrograph (FEH rainfall-
     Runoff method, Statistical method and Continuous Simulation
    outputs, Shetran) as for the flood alleviation strategies; simulation for the river
     were done using the the following methods: (RETENTION WALL CONSTRU-
     CTION, RECTANGULAR SECTIONS, DELETING THE BRIDGE, WETLAND
     CONSTRUCTION and DIVERSION CHANEL CONSTRUCTION).
