Environmental impact assesment of Tawam project (Estidama)

    In 2003 Abu Dhabi municipality created Estidama which is the adapted version of LEED,
    It has a purpose to create a new sustainability framework that will direct the
    course of developments; as a result all the projects needed to be Estidama
    certified in order to take place and executed.

     Tawam Dialysis;a 17,217 square meters project is located in Al Ain ,it offers a
     total of 98 kidney dialysis units, 66 units in phase one and 32 units for phase 2.

     I was responsible for leading the teamís approach to the landscape sustainability.
    Along with site study ,this work consisted of establishing the, landscape Outdoor
   Comfort, water and Mobility concepts along with strategies for minimizing the
    environmental impact of the new development.

Landscape shading plan  providing partially shaded pedestrian and car park areas for outdoor confort
Landscape permeability plan focusing on permeable surfaces for drainage as well as passive cooling
techniques that are  used. The majority of surfaces exposed to solar radiation should feature high albedo materials such as plants, light colored gravel and pavers.
Landscape circulation showing that the Center will optimize internal and external connectivity to public
transport while improving access and convenience. There will be dedicated alternative fuel vehicle parking, bicycle parking, and storage opportunities. Shower and changing facilities for cyclists
will be available.
